Why it matters

Most gardening advice is written for somewhere else.

Planting calendars that tell you to “plant after last frost” are useless in Florida, where our best growing season is October through March — the exact opposite of most of the country.

A tomato variety that thrives in Ohio may struggle in Tampa. Blueberries sold at big box stores may not survive a Florida summer. The Planting Zone was built to fix that.

Every guide is built for a specific USDA hardiness zone, in a specific state, with variety recommendations that actually perform in that climate.
